It's Party Time! Let's Dare to Share!

It's Saturday morning, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

I am hoping everyone living in the south is safe from Hurricane Helene.  While I am not  in the direct path, we did feel some of the after effects where I live in Ohio.  Yesterday we have heavy rain, and lot of large wind gusts.  The drive home from work was kind of scary, and many people in my area are out of power.  While we were lucky not to lose power at our house, but the weather was still a distraction last night.  I realized in the middle of the night, that I forgot to post the Dare to Share Party.  Oops!  We are a little bit late to get started, but better late than never.

I am in the process of adding a new post, but the storm affected that too.  I need add a couple of last minute touches, but I will be posting how I made my ghost dogs with Dollar Tree items very soon.  I also still need to add the skeleton hand tiered trays this week as well.

Instead of waiting any longer, let's get this party started.  Link up and HAVE FUN!!

It's Time to Dare to Share!

It's Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

This past Wednesday, my friend and I were part of a vendor market.  Unfortunately, it has been extremely hot for days and days.  It was originally supposed to be a high of 82 that day, but the forecast changed so it was closer to 90. Definitely a warm day for a market.  I made two of these skeleton tiered baskets to use to hold some our baked goods.  Since the market was really close to where I work, and started an hour after I got off work, the baskets and some of the ghosts I made were in my car while I was at work.   The ghosts were fine, but it got so hot in my car, it melted all the hot glue on my tiered baskets and they fell apart.   I was still able to use the baskets  individually, but it was a bit of a bummer the tiers fell apart.  I am going to make them again for our October market which should be a lot cooler.

Another craft I started, but was not able to finish yet are these stacking pumpkins from the Dollar Tree.  The three days before the market last week, we were making cookies and baked goods. Our next market is in three weeks, so I hope to get finished by then.

I have already been wearing my Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein  T shirts I made using Dollar Tree wood pieces and bleach.  They are super easy to make, and fun to wear.

I recently took a sugar decorating class and made these Halloween cookies. If you have ever tried to use royal icing, it takes a little bit of practice. They turned out pretty well for my first batch.  I really liked making them so I am going to continue to try lots of different cookies and techniques.

Well now that you know what I have been up to this week, I would love to see what you have been up too.  Link Up and HAVE FUN!

Let's Dare to Share!

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

I did not have time to start Halloween crafting yet this week, but I will be crafting this weekend. Yea!  Tomorrow I am going to try to make a few new crafts, and Sunday I am working with my friend making things for an upcoming market.  I am including a photo of one of my favorite crafts I made last year, Halloween Pool Noodle Candles.  All you need is a pool noodle, some tea lights, and some black flowers from the Dollar Tree.  You can also use the same directions to make Christmas candles with different color pool noodles.

Tonight D and I made a trip to Target after dinner.  They have some of the cutest Halloween items.  I will be adding many of the items we saw  in my LTK store this weekend.  I saw so many things I wanted to buy.

Well it looks like it is time to get this party started, so link up and HAVE FUN!

It's Party Time! Let's Dare to Share!

It's Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is Time to Share!

I mentioned during last week's party that we were going to our high school reunion over the weekend.  We met last Saturday at a lake house.  While the group was smaller than we were expecting, a fun time was had by all.  Hopefully it wont be another five years before I see some of these friends again. It was a rough year for our class, we lost six classmates in the last year.  It made us realize how important it is to keep in touch with one another.

Another big thing that happened this week was we got a new car. We really needed one. Between the two of us, we have almost 600,000 miles on our two cars. His Honda has a whopping 365,000 miles on it. Mine has 230,000, His car still runs pretty good, but does need some work.  We also wanted a safer, newer car if we have special cargo in it. :)  Speaking of special cargo, the new grandbaby is doing well. She had some firsts this week.  She went to her first pediatrician appointment, and then out to eat with mom and dad. It's still hard to believe she is finally here.

I have been starting to get into the Halloween spirit with the opening of Beetle Juice this weekend.  We have not seen the movie yet, but I have been checking out all the great Halloween finds in the store and online.  I also shared a post of some of my easy pumpkin pail crafts this week on the blog, that I created for our front porch last year.  I am starting to add a lot of what I been finding in both my Amazon Storefront, and my LTK store.  I have several more things to add in the upcoming days, so please follow to see when they are posted.  I would be broke if I bought everything I have seen so far that I have on my wish list.

Now that you know what I have been up to this week, I would love to see what you have been doing.  Link up and HAVE FUN!

Easy Plastic Pumpkin Pail Crafts

Now that Spooky Season is here, plastic pumpkins are available for not only Trick or Treating, but also for crafting.

I bought four plastic pumpkin pails, and used them in different ways to decorate our front porch.

** This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

The first pumpkin craft I made was the sitting pumpkin witch. I found the supplies I needed from the Dollar Tree. You will need two sets of witch legs, and a witch hat.  I found everything for $1.25 each.

One set of the witch legs will be used for the pumpkin's legs. I filled them with a plastic bag to give them a little bit of dimension.

Since they do not sell witch arms, I had to alter the second set of witch legs.  I cut out the shape of mitten out of the felt shoes, so it looked like the picture above.

I also filled the arms with plastic bags to give them dimension as well. I attached both the arms and legs to the pumpkin with hot glue.

The last step was to remove the plastic handle and glue on the witch hat. I only glued it about 2/3 of the way around though, because you want some space to add a tea light or push light. Both types of lights are available the Dollar Tree.

A very simple way to add some Halloween fun to your porch is by making a Halloween lantern.  Dollar Tree has planter chains near their floral section for $1.25.  I am not sure if they are available all year or if they are seasonal.

We hung this pumpkin on the front of our porch and added a Dollar Tree Strobe light that changes colors.

I don't have a good picture of pumpkin we placed around the light fixture on our porch. First we cut off the handle, then cut down the back of the pumpkin.  Depending on the size if the light fixture you will need to remove the bottom of the pumpkin and some of the back so that it fits around your light fixture.

The last pumpkin craft that I made is to make a pumpkin head candlestick.  I found a black pillar candlestick  at the Dollar Tree and glue it to the bottom of the pumpkin.  I also added a gem spider from the Halloween party section.

If you order from DollarTree.com, they are offering Free Shipping up to $50 through Sept 7th with the code FREESHIP.   If available you can also have items shipped free to your local store!

Happy Crafting!
