Dare to Share #153

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share..

What a week it is has been!

Do you ever have weeks when you make big plans to get a lot accomplished, but then your schedule goes crazy and your barely have time to do anything.. That would be what happened to me this week.. On Sunday I made Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Waffles with Kara for Monday's post.  We also started working on other projects.  She is working on Origami for a review, and I started a Leprachaun craft. The "plan" was to post them on Tuesday and Wednesday..

This was my view for most of Tuesday morning.  My oldest daughter had a Drs appointment that should have been only 20 minutes away at 8:30. We knew there would be some rush hour traffic so we left at 7:45.  During rush hour,  our area was hit with 2 inches of snow and freezing rain.   This is a 3 lane busy highway and we were bumper to bumper for miles.  We did not arrive to the Drs office until 9:15!!  I had my daughter find the number and call the office.  They said to just be safe, and get there whenever we could.  At the time of our appointment the person were supposed to see what not in yet either.   The appointment lasted until about 10.  They knew I had to get back home by 11 at the very latest because it was ACT testing day, and my son had to take the 10th grade version. He needed to be at the school by 11:15. The ride back home was 45 minutes, because the roads had become very click.  Luckily my daughter was with me, because my phone started going crazy. It seems Kyle  could not find his student ID and he was paniced because the bus was already late.  I arrived home just before 11, and found his 9th grade ID.  Since the bus was already 20 minutes late at this point, I drove my son and a neighbor to the school. We got there 5 minutes late, but so did everyone else. There was a long line of cars, and they were trying to direct traffic   The neighbor's mom said that the bus finally made it to our neighborhood at 11:06. The bus driver was having a really hard time with the weather, and was running 30 minutes behind. He thinks he did well on the test, missed the bus back home and I had to go back out and pick him up.  Kara on this day was home with another really bad headache, and my oldest did not have school, because the Seniors did not need to take any tests.

Wed morning, another late start for school. because of more testing for the Juniors.  This time the bus arrived on time, which was a really good thing because I was taking Kara to the ENT.  All of her tests he gave her in his office came back normal.  He referred us to a pediatric neurologist because she is having so many headaches and occular migraines. That afternoon, we had also had  Robotics and dance class. (she only does what she can)

Thursday morning these polka dot pajama pants were a big part of our morning.  Kara is in choir, and had a special rehearsal at the high school first thing in the morning.   She knew she had to be there by a certain time.  She tends to be slow in the morning, but now with the headaches she is even slower. We got to the rehearsal about 5 minutes late.  All of the doors at our school are locked during school hours. Since she was late, there was no one waiting at the auditorium door to let the students in.  We had to go to the other end of the school, and be buzzed in the main door.  I then had to walk her across the entire high school in my pajamas, boots, and glasses!  (I had not planned on getting out of the car) Luckily it was not class change time, and I did not see anyone I knew except for the school secretary.  Later that morning I spent several hours with my woman's group from church,  and one of my best friends for a nice lunch.  As soon as Kyle got home from school, it was a quick trip to the grocery store because we had to go to the choir concert that night. We had to be there an hour early, and it was two hours long.  Parking was a nightmare, because someone decided having a middle and high school choir concert and a basketball game at the same time was a good idea.

This was my view for pretty much the entire day today. We left at 9 am and got home at 8:30 pm.  We had our first Robotics meeting of the season.  This year the robots are recycling.  Each of the teams had a mascot to help root on their team.   Our bulldog has a mean look on it's face, but it is actually quite nice.  All of the mascots were having a great time dancing together.  I will see more of the mascots because we still have another day of competition.  Their parking lot was even worse than ours the other  night.  Someone there thought it would be a good idea to schedule a large meet with 39 teams during school hours, and then also schedule a 3 day dance competition that started this evening in the same building at the same time. We found out today that the cafeteria where all of the teams take breaks and  eat meals is off limits tomorrow. It seems the dance competition rented out the entire cafeteria.  Somehow approximately 1000+ people  for robotics,  several hundred for the dance competition, and a possible third event going on at the same time will all have to share the school and the parking lots.  There is going to be a lot of chaos tomorrow!

Now that you see why I have not been available to post much this week,  I did have a chance to do a feature day for Chocolate Mint Desserts and Treats
