I spent most of this week in a Doctors office.  Three days this week, I was taking one of the kids to the doctor. If I was not in a Doctors office, I was on the phone with one.   You can read more about what has been going on in my Surviving the Crazy Life post Doctors, Doctors and More Doctors.

Earlier in the week, I also wrote this post titled  Migraines are No Fun

For the last couple weeks before all of the Drs appointments,  we had been planning on a announcing our upcoming party posts.  Kara and I saw Cinderella opening weekend and we LOVED it.  We have several party idea planned, so be watching for those in the upcoming weeks.

Migraines are No Fun

Sorry to be be so quiet the last couple of days.  It looks to be another week of migraines and Drs. appointments.  Kara was not able to go to school at all on Monday, and only part of the day today.   At lunch time I brought her some Ibuprofen.  When it was not doing anything the office allowed me to run her to McDonalds to get some caffeine.  That did not really help either.  She finally started feeling a little better after laying down and taking a nap.  This afternoon her older sister had her 18 yr check up..(eek!)  While there I showed the Dr. a picture of Kara's thyroid that I took the other day. It is quite swollen.  You might remember from a few years ago  when I had my issues with a swollen thyroid.  The Dr took one look at the photo and said to bring her in as soon as possible.  We have an appointment later this week.   While we are not sure what we will find out, we may actually find some answers to what is going on.  We can only hope!

Strawberry Recipes for Special Occasions - Features of the Day

I am so excited that the first day of Spring is here.  Not only will the temperatures begin to warm up, but soon many of our favorite fruits will be back in season too.  One trend I noticed on this week's Dare to Share was several recipes with strawberries and cream cheese.  I LOVE strawberries and think every single one of these recipes look delicious, and perfect to serve this time of year.

The Strawberry Cheesecake Dip by  Ashley of Spoonful of Flavor  (upper left)  is made with only four ingredients, and is great for dipping fruit and graham crackers.

Mini Cheesecake Bites by Tammy of My Organized Chaos (upper right)  would make the perfect dessert and bite size  party food.

Want something special for breakfast or brunch?  Strawberry Stuffed French Toast (bottom left), also by My Organized Chaos would make it seem the first meal of the day like an occasion.

Colleen by Shibley Smiles also has a Strawberry Cheesecake Dip (bottom right)  with yummy ingredients like honey and pecans to make it extra special.

Be sure to check out all four of these recipes, they would be great additions to your upcoming Easter menu.   Thank you so much Ashley, Tammi and Colleen for sharing them with us on this week's Dare to Share

Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash Review and Giveaway

The Dial  brand provided me with a sample of this body wash in exchange for a review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

I was recently given the chance to try Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash because I am a Purex Insider. I was pretty excited about it. because I have very dry skin that seems to get worse in the winter. There were two things about this particular body that I wanted to find out more about.  The bottle said infused with with Marula oil for beautiful soft skin, and refreshing body wash. Since I want beautiful, soft, restored skin, I could not wait to try it.

The first thing that I noticed was the scent. It smelled really good. I can not quite describe it exactly, it is kind of sweet, and kind of like citrus.  It is not overpowering,  which is a good thing because one of my kids has a scent allergy. The scent does not seem to bother her at all.

While I was using the body wash, it really did feel like it was moisturizing my skin.  Hours later, my skin still feels soft and healthy.  I think I just found my new favorite body wash!

Want to learn more about this body wash?   Check out DialSoap.com or their facebook page Facebook.com/Dial. I was sent  free coupons to give my readers a chance to try Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash for themselves.  If you would like to try it please enter the giveaway below.

Leprechaun Treat Boxes

Leprechaun Treat Boxes made with cardboard tubes

When I was real young, I used to think that Leprechauns were real.  Every St. Patrick's Day I would keep my eyes open to see if I could catch a glimpse of one.  I would have loved to caught a Leprechaun Treat Box back then, even it is was not a real Leprechaun.  These Leprechauns can be filled with candy, beads, coins and other treats.

To make my Leprechaun Treat Boxes, I started with several cardboard tubes. I painted a flesh color in the middle of the tube, and then the rest of it green. There are so many different shades of green that would work.  I used Holiday Green, because it was a brighter color. (this picture was taken in late afternoon, so it is harder to see the true shade)  I then folded the ends in on both sides.

Next I caught strips of orange paper about a quarter inch wide. I used Orchid Origami paper which I will share more about with you in a later post.   You can make them as thin as you would like, but you did want them wide enough to work with. The size of the paper I used is 6" x 6".  Because this paper was not orange on both sides, I cut the strips in half, folded them over, and glue the white side together. Each piece of the beard was about an inch and a half long.

I attached the beard pieces with scrapbooking adhesive, but a regular glue stick will also work.  You can either paint the faces or use markers.  I used markers to draw on mine. It is faster and easier, and you can give each of the Leprechauns their own personality.

I used another small piece of paper to make the hair. To top of the hair will be covered by the hat, so you do not need to worry about that part.

How to make a clover with a heart punch

I forgot to take pictures of the hats while I was making them.  I used green cardstock similar in color to the Leprechaun. I made it wide enough to cover the top of the tube. I really thought it needed a four leaf clover, but I did not have a sticker or clover paper punch.

I did have a mini heart punch which I knew would perfectly.  I added the heart pieces to the hat with a glue stick.

Fill with your favorite St. Patrick's Day treats

Cardboard Tube Leprechaun Puppets.

If you prefer not to fill your tubes with treats, that is okay too.  Just leave the bottom unfolded and they are the perfect size for Leprechaun puppets.

Dare to Share #154

It is Friday night, and you know what that means...
It is time to Dare to Share!

Whew another busy week here...

It's been another week of sick kids, Drs appointments, and other random things.

Over the last few weeks, I have mentioned that my daughter has not been feeling well.  We found out last week that her vertigo symptoms were not from an inner ear issue from the ENT.  This week we saw the pediatric neurologist, and she was officially diagnosed with migraines. The migraines are what are causing her other symptoms.   This past week has been hard, because she woke up with a headache every single morning.  We just started on a preventative medicine, that will hopefully having her feeling much better real soon.  She was not my only child home a lot this week. Her brother came down with a respiratory virus, and missed 4 days of school. Of course he had to miss a ton of homework at the end of the quarter.

The weather finally made it above freezing long enough this week to finally  have a funeral for Silver.  The ground was so frozen we had to keep him in the garage. We still really miss the little guy..

On a happier note, do you remember me talking about the first day of the Robotics meet last week? Well on Saturday our team was part of the winning alliance, and we got our first district win! If we do well enough at our next meet, we will be going to states in mid April.

With the recent release of Big Hero 6,  I chose these Baymax Party Treats as Features of the Day.

Baymax Marshmallow Dip by Frugal Foodie Mama
Baymax Candy Necklaces by Melissa Kaylene
Baymax Cookie Pops by Sarah Halstead

There will be a lot of fun things coming up this week including  a St Patrick's Day round up, a Leprechaun Craft, a review, and an announcement of a new party theme..

Now it is time for this week's party. You are welcome to link up anything that you would like to share.  If you are chosen as a feature of the day, your post will be featured on the blog and social media.   This party is also being seen on my co-hosts blog Kandy Kreations, so you may also be featured on her blog and social media for even more exposure.
