It's Friday night, and you know what that means!
It's time to Dare to Share!
#Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links for Social Spark, and my sponsored posts I wrote for them.
I don't know about you, but this week kicked my butt! I am so exhausted, after a non stop week! Last Saturday, I woke up not feeling good. I am still not sure what was wrong. I was very dizzy and tired. I would lay down for just a minute, and wake up 4 hours later kind of tired. Sunday I was not feeling 100%, but well enough to get out of bed.. I also knew I had a lot of work I had to get done. Good thing I had my Sponsored Social Spark Post for The New Smokehouse Brisket go live over the weekend, because I was not up to blogging. (If you would like more about Social Spark, you can see how to join here.)
On Monday, I shared Easy Halloween Cupcakes that I whipped up using some of our disappearing Oreos. (I literally have to hide them, or the entire box will be eaten in just a day or two. )
On Tuesday it was my birthday. A very good friend took me to lunch. (Thanks Rhonda!) That evening I got spend time sitting at the dance studio, and making Kyle do his History homework. This was the last week of the grading period. Kyle's Aspergers can be a bit of a challenge when it comes to homework. He often does not want to do it, even though he probably already knows all the answers. We had to finish up work every single day this week.. I do have good news though. He finished it all up last night, and turned it all in today. No homework for a couple of days. Woohoo! This is his first grading period of high school, so it is pretty important. I also had to work on a project that did not get finished when I was sick..
That project was for my contributor post on my friend Becky's blog Your Modern Family. I made some new candy treat boxes for this week's school parties. Many years ago when we lived in a different district, we had to have a "harvest party" instead of a Halloween party. I thought it would be a good idea to have some neutral boxes in addition my monster treat boxes of last year. I was not happy with the pictures, but that is what happens when you have to take pictures at 11 p.m. and there is no natural light.
I also had another sponsored post from Social Spark about my #BugOut Moment for Orkin Ecologist. I shared a a bit of my past and why I had the #9 of top ten bug phobias.
Thursday it was Halloween. Since I was still working on Kara's costume and decorating the house, I shared several ideas that have been linked up in recent weeks, that could be done at the last minute. You can see all of the featured links here.
Kara's bunny costume was literally finished a little after 6 p.m. Because of the rain, a lot of the kids in the neighborhood got a slow start this year. It probably would have helped if we had all of the supplies on hand BEFORE the day before Halloween. She was very picky on the colors etc.. She wanted tan sweats etc.. The only ones we could find were at Old Navy. We searched a lot of stores and searched online. We were very lucky to find tan fleece that matched perfectly on sale in the remnant bin at JoAnns on Wednesday. I had to hand stitch the ears and attach them to a headband. We added wire so she could bend one halfway down She also wanted a white fur belly that we attached to a tan T shirt. She made the tan fleece tail at 6 p.m. You just can't see it in the picture.
It was another late night.. After trick or treating, and more HOMEWORK, I made my Indian Corn Treats for today's Sharing is Caring Blog Hop. As you can imagine, I am a bit tired today. (especially after only being able to sleep for 3 hours, not sure what is up with that!)
In addition to the Last Minute Round Up shared above, there were two other Features of the Day this week.
Glitter Pumpkins by Cheerios and Laundry
and
Bouncing Spider Halloween Craft by Kids Activities Blog
It is now time for this week's party. I don't have a lot of rules, you can pretty much link up anything you want to share. I don't require that you follow me, but I would sure love it if you did.
