I have two more treats to add to our Apple party theme. Tonight Kara and I made Caramel Apple Pie Pops, and Mini Candy Apple Pies. I realized that my camera battery was out of charge just as I was about to take pictures of how we made our pops and pies. Don't you hate when that happens?! I used my small other camera these photos. While I the photos are not that great, at least I was able to get some pics. First we made the Caramel Apple Pops. I melted a few spoonfuls of butter in a small skillet.
Kara helped prepare the apples. We used my Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer
to cut about 5 or 6 up to use in both recipes. I love it, it sees a lot of use this time of year. It making preparing the apples so quick and easy.

I used about two of the cut apples to make the pops. I added the apples and about a teaspoon of cinnamon to the butter in the skillet.
When the apples began to soften a bit, I added a couple spoonfuls of Smuckers caramel ice cream topping to the skillet. I took the apple mixture off the burner, while I helped Kara prepare the crust.
Using an apple cookie cutter, she cut out several apple and circle shapes. I spooned the apple mixture on the bottom layer. I always seems to spoon on a bit too much, because a bit of caramel leaked out of each pop. Add the top layer and squeeze the two layers of crust together. Make a small slit or hole in the pop to help ventilate during baking. Brush a coating of egg white on the crust. and then bake in a 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes. To be honest I don't know exactly how long I cooked them. I just keep checking until the the crust looked done, which was approximately 15 minutes.
Do you see the shine on the pop? I made some powered sugar icing (just powdered sugar and milk) and coated each of the pops with a little bit of icing.
Next up was the Mini Candy Apple Pies

Before adding the crust on top, we also added several red hot candies to the pie. If someone does not like red hots, just leave them out of their pie.
Kara is adding the crust to one of the mini pies.
We added a small X in the middle of the pie for ventilation, and added one more red hot. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes. I added some egg white wash before putting them in. If the crust does not look done, when the buzzer goes off, just put them in for a couple more minutes.
The pies when they came out of the oven. The family wanted to dive right in, but I had to take a few photos first.
There you go, two more easy apple treats that are perfect to serve at a party.
omg these look SO delicious! I am totally going to try it! Pinning it for later :)
