Snowman Pretzel Treats

White chocolate covered pretzel treats

We live in part of the country that was quite snowy today.  We were not in the blizzard area, but still got close to 6 inches of snow, and our roads are a mess. Since we were not really up to going outside in the cold to make a snowman, I decided to make a few snowmen treats in the kitchen.

To make the snowmen, I used round pretzels, and laid them out in threes

I  melted a bag of white baking chips in the microwave using the 30 second method.  I then  dipped each of the pretzels in the melted candy until covered.

I then placed them together on wax paper so they would stick together.  Once in place, I filled in the rest of the pretzel with melted chocolate.

I also tried to just fill in the snowmen without dipping them first.  That  worked out okay, but some of the pretzel was showing.  I used a food brush and added some chocolate on the bare spots.   Both ways to make the snowmen  works okay, but I found dipping the pretzel was a bit easier.

Before the snowmen dried, I added eyes and buttons  using mini chips.  The scarves are Fruit by the Foot cut into pieces about one inch long.  I was not sure what to do with the nose.  I ended up adding  them on with orange gel once the chocolate hardened.

Once the chocolate has hardened, break off any excess as needed.  These snowmen are easy to make and are the perfect snow day snack.

I will be linking up my Snowmen Pretzel Treats on the linky parties HERE.  Why don't you stop by and check them out.
