Last week I made a few snow themed ornaments. While I am not a big fan of snow in real life, I love it in ornaments.
I recently bought some snow flakes from Target for only $2.29. This bag is a pretty good size so it will last a very long time.
A few weeks ago Michaels had all of their clear ornaments on sale for 50% off. Each clear ball was only .49 each. I bought 6, but I think I am going to get some more.
For each of my different types of snow ornaments I filled the ball about halfway full.
The melting snowman is a fun one to make. I have seen them made several ways. My way was kind of simple. I used a hole punch on black craft foam to make the eyes and buttons. I cut a small orange triangle for the carrot nose, and a piece of red felt fringed on the ends for the scarf.
Now that it has been shipped, I can share about an ornament I made for my partner is the Holiday Ornament exchange that I participated in. She told me she really likes things that sparkle.
In her ornament I used a heart shaped paper punch and cut out several white foam hearts. I also added a lot of silver glitter inside the ornament. I had some gorgeous light blue ribbon that also was embellished with silver glitter that I tied to the top. I love how the finished ornament turned out.
I added blue glitter to the snow in the last ornament I made. I then painted on Glistening Snow-Tex around the top of the ornament and when it dried it really did resemble snow.
Each of these ornaments are simple to make, but so pretty to look at.
I will be linking my ornaments up at these linky parties HERE. Be sure to stop by and check then out.
