We have had unseasonably warm temps the last couple of weeks in Michigan. This past week we have had several days in the 80s when we normally would have had snow. The weather has confused many of the plants and trees into blooming early. This is the earliest I can ever remember seeing things bud and bloom. Even my kids are confused. They act like it is May, not March. They seem to think they will no longer have to wear a coat, and can wear shorts until fall. We will be going back to the 50s and 60s next week which will now seem cold, when in a normal year those temps would be above average. This picture is looking up at all the buds on a large tree in the backyard.
Some of the bushes around our home suddenly have leaves.
Our cherry tree in bloom. This usually doesn't happen until late April/early May. We also have a crabtree in the backyard that always blooms the week of Mothers Day. I wonder what will happen this year.
