Peppermint Garland

I made this peppermint and gingerbread themed garland last year.  I hung it in the dining area of our kitchen near where we eat.

I found round stryofoam discs at the dollar store.  I knew I had to seal them before I painted them, because they were very porous.  I covered them with a few coats of Modge Podge.

To start the peppermint swirls, I started by marking out my starting points.

I then painted the swirl lines a little at a time until they were the thickness that I wanted.

On six of the discs, I painted the swirl to looks like suckers.  I inserted a lollipop stick into the stryofoam.

The gingerbread were made by each of my kids when they were in 1st grade.  I will share another post about the Gingerbread Tea they had at their elementary school.   It was a lot of fun and had so many great ideas that should be shared.  I saved their gingerbread, and I am so happy that I have the perfect place to display them.

I wrapped all the candy with plastic wrap and tied on red ribbon.   To hand them I inserted an ornament hook into the stryofoam.

I just hung my garland today for this Christmas seaon.  I still love it as much as last year.
